Walking Programme

New to 2014, HURRAH presents the HURRAH Human Walking Programme. Join the HURRAH Rescue Pack for an on leash 7.5km walk around the scenic Orewa Estuary Track.

Why?  Well studies show that interaction with animals can help reduce tension and uplift the mood, and exercise releases feel-good endorphins.  Plus, you’ll help the rescue dogs get some much needed on leash time.  It’s a winning combination for both parties.

We ran our first event on November 7, 2014.  26 walking volunteers, 8 pack leaders, and 16 dogs took to the track.  Here is a sneak peek of events:

That was such an fabulous day – for both humans and dogs alike ! Only down side – I couldn’t take Wookie home ! I am a Personal Trainer at AUT (as well as working part time at Sovereign) and when I mentioned to one of the managers about Sovereign’s support of HURRAH, they were really keen to look at something like that which AUT could become involved with

Tracy Reay – Sovereign

Hi Chrissy Congratulations for a great day today.  Well done on the organising and I hope you have good responses to potential adoption families. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to be there too

Linda Shaw – Auckland City Council

Thank you for a great day. Getting outside and helping animals in need was an incredibly rewarding experience for Sovereign staff. We look forward to doing it again
